Our Story
From creativity to impact agency in Africa
Makrea began with a simple but bold idea: creativity has the power to change lives. Since our founding in Douala in 2015 as a small graphic design studio, we have evolved steadily into a full-fledged impact agency supporting NGOs, development cooperation organisations, political training institutions, and civil society in Africa.
Over the years, we expanded our services beyond design into strategy, advocacy, digital innovation, capacity building, policy and campaign support. As challenges like inequality, climate change, and social exclusion intensified, we doubled down on our conviction that social transformation requires both vision and execution.
Today, Makrea operates across multiple African countries, with a multidisciplinary team of strategists, communicators, researchers and digital specialists. We partner with organisations seeking to make bold change in areas including lifelong learning, gender equity, climate & biodiversity, policy advocacy, and digital transformation. Our journey is driven by a belief that local action backed by global expertise can deliver sustainable impact.
